RecoverySoft / June 15, 2018

Did you know that much of the oil in the ground is still present after primary recovery? In the kings english, that means there is still a lot of oil left in a well even after 10 years of pumping. The reason oil production slows is that the natural drive that once pushed oil aggressively towards the wellbore has subsided. Normally, the natural drive is either water or gas in the formation. In this article, we look to explain some of the common enhanced or secondary/tertiary methods of oil recovery. With oil hitting new highs every day, it is clear the cost benefit of utilizing technology to get at extra production makes sense. When oil was in the $10-20 range, the incremental cost of some enhanced oil recovery methods did not make economic sense. One of the most common secondary recovery methods is a waterflood. Essentially, a waterflood is a reintroduction of water into the formation to create a drive to push more oil towards the wellbore. To increase the efficiency of a waterflood, new methods utilize Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer floods and some explorers are introducing microbes into the wellbore to increase the sweep efficiency of the flood, both methods have been…

T-Shirts – Common Terms Explained
RecoverySoft / May 15, 2018

T-shirt manufacturers use many terms to describe their products. The terms are not always consistent and it helps to have a reference guide. The following is the official Green Man T-Shirts Guide to understanding t-shirt terms: 20s, 20/1, 20s single: Unit of measurement that defines the fineness of cotton thread. A standard spool of single-ply cotton thread is comprised of 840 yards of cotton thread. If it takes 20 spools to weigh one pound, then the thread on those spools is referred to as 20s cotton, or 20/1. If 30 spools weigh one pound, then the thread on those spools is referred to as 30s cotton thread, or 30/1. If it takes 40 spools to weigh one pound, then the thread on those spools is referred to as 40s cotton, or 40/1. The higher number means a finer thread, and thus a finer, softer fabric is created. T-shirts made of 30s and 40s are softer, finer, and have better drape than t-shirts made of 20s. The terms are used many ways, but it’s the number that counts; “20s,” “20/1,” and “20 singles” are the same. Threads can be twisted together into thicker strands. If two 20/1 cotton threads were twisted…

RecoverySoft / April 22, 2018

I often wonder if I would ever be able to forgive my wife for her actions while she was actively drinking. I could not conceive ever trusting her again – not after the barrage of lies and deception that goes along with active alcoholism. How could she do this to our family? To her children? To me !? My wife was in and out of recovery programs with limited success. I would push, she would go – relapse. Repeat cycle. My wife finally hit bottom on our son's birthday – she was unconscious when I called the ambulance and was in the ICU for 3 days. I had hit my bottom as well – and filed for divorce. I did not think I could have gotten the damage. My wife entered an in-patient program, without my help, and left a new person – she had connected with her Higher Power and turned over her will and her life. She had finally come to believe that she was an alcoholic, no better no worse, an alcoholic. It was during the early stages of my wife's recovery that I realized I needed help as well. I could not understand how my wife…
