How To Permanently Delete Files?

To permanently delete a file it is not enough to press delete or to empty the recycle bin. Operating systems like Windows or Mac OS delete the file by marking it invisible and by releasing the disk space it was using. In fact, it is impossible to delete the file, you can only overwrite it with some other data. This basic principle of computer file system is used to undelete files. If we have, for example, accidentally deleted some file, we can recover it by using some undelete tool. If the data was not overwritten we can get the original file back as it was prior to deletion.

For many computer users this behavior of files is not problematic. We don’t care what happens with the files after they are deleted. But there are cases when we care or at least we should care. When we would like to dump the old computer or donate it to somebody we don’t want to leave all the files on the disk. Deleting them or even formatting the disk does not solve the problem. With simple recovery tools it is possible to recover formatted partitions and deleted files. This is a problem because our files may contain confidential data, user names, passwords or personal data.

This is even a greater problem for companies. They can not simply give away old computers containing sensitive documents with confidential data. Formatting the disk, of course, hides files only from amateurs. Therefore, some way to erase the data has to be found. And it was. All you have to do is to overwrite the disk with random or nonsense data. This data overwriting will prevent conventional data recovery methods. Only conventional because there are also unconventional or exotic methods that can examine the hard drive platters under electronic microscope to recover even overwritten data.

To erase a hard drive you can use one of many hard drive erasers. This is a software tool that overwrites selected files with predefined data patterns to prevent data recovery. To be on a safe side one pass is not enough. Most disk wiping algorithms approved by authorities use multiple overwriting passes to remove all traces of the original disk data.

Even if you intend to dump your old computer it is a good idea to permanently delete all the data stored on the hard drive. You never know who might be interested in recovering the files from an old computer. Some do it for fun, others for business.

    Oh my I can totally relate to the raw veggies situation.     PS I am so glad to hear that, with more recovery, weight restoration and eating regularly, those crazy food thoughts will diminish. I have absolutely found that to be true. the days i don't follow my own plan, i am a crazy mess lol! But when I have something every few hours even if I'm not hungry, I can see a HUGE difference mentally. I can actually concentrate on other things. that alone is worth it!

    Please be careful with digestive enzymes. Try NOT to take them before every meal because it could teach your body to rely on them. Your gut's enzymes have to eventually learn how to grow its own bacteria and actually break down food, so I just hope you're being careful <3. I use the Garden of Life Probiotics too, and yes, loooove it.
    So glad you're doing better.

    Coming out of my ED the same exact thing happened to me with broccoli i had never had cramps sooo badly with little a tinyyyy tinny little piece of food i always just thought i was allergic to it but that makes so much more sense that it was digestion

    IBS fellow friend here lol ! A lot of people tell me I have to eat the products my stomach reacts to but just like you some stuff I just wonโ€™t have because I lose more weight making my stomach upset then stay away from them. So people talk so easily about whatโ€™s best for you but YOU know best and what works for your body. I also try โ€œwhite foodsโ€ like bread, pasta, rice etc. But I get so sick I canโ€™t even move or eat or anything else then run to the bathroom.

    So I try to include other foods that are as calorie dense as carbs or dairy.

    I canโ€™t eat vegetables that are raw or some exotic fruits. So ironic because we think itโ€™s good for us to eat only low calorie foods but they can also upset our stomach.

    But my IBS is very active. I donโ€™t remember ever having any kind of constipation I always get it the other way and itโ€™s very extreme. Itโ€™s like being punched in the stomach and I have to run to the nearest bathroom. So exhausting :/ So NO I wonโ€™t risk eating foods I know can upset my stomach especially when out in public lol.

    Stephโค this is so what I needed right now. GOD IS FAITHFUL. Thank you for posting 're digestion. Am struggling so much with it and needed some encouragement. Will go back to probotics and digestive enzymes. So frustrating and long winded. Weight going up and hungry all the time. It's scary! And feels out of control, but watching your progress and feeling past of that, helps.

    Did you share the exact advice you got from the gi doc in a previous video?
    Everyone is different I know, but so many have the same issues like you and it would be helpful hearing others experiences and advice and then one can just try implement it and see if it works.
    Digestive enzymes and probiotics are so important and helpful not just for digestion but overall health๐Ÿ™Œ
    Did you get the diet advice from the doctor? All docs I've seen in the past haven't believed in that diet works, and that it's important to eat everything to not be restrictive when coming from an ed and having bowel problems (I do believe in being careful and conscious about some foods during healing even though docs doesn't understand;)
    I hope the advice you've gotten isn't turning into too much restriction due to avoiding a lot of food like you've talked about before with avoiding dairy gluten soy etc etc (I know for myself how hard it is with extreme digestive issues and having to avoid stuff and at the same time not be restrictive, oh boy๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜œ)

    You'd die with laughter if you saw my cupboard… and how many cereal boxes I've got.. and I've been on a Yu-Gi-Oh! Binge… yes… I feel old… lol…

    Girl… I feel like I could blow balloons up for a living… I do however eat loads of Greek Yogurt… so I get the active cultures and Fiber from my oats etc etc.. but yeah.. gotta love the IBS issues… fml I love Broccoli… damn it… hmmm and apples too… just my luck… I can't do Pineapple. The acidity in the fruit makes my upper jaw gums bleed o.O I do love berries. Just bought some Strawberries yesterday yum

    I like feeling satisfied too rather than hungry… but all this eating is tiresome lol… its starting to feel like a chore now and I am kinda hating it… but oh well… I am trying not to give up but still going at it… hating it lool… but still at it.

    Bull's eye on my physical health today. I had too much broccoli yesterday and I'm bloated and in pain the entire day. I feel like restricting today just because I feel so 'huge'. I love broccoli, so I will try to limit the amount. How come your body is compatible with maple syrup since it's also sweet? I realized I can't tolerate honey because that puts me into a sugar coma like in 10 minutes. ๐Ÿ™

    Happy Birthday you adorable thing you! Big hugs! We use the exact same brand of enzymes, and like you, I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they work. Several years ago, I also had issues with broccoli, cauliflower, and even carrots. I would have intense cramping every time I ate them. I am pleased to report that my tolerance for them has improved! Broccoli is still iffy, and it must be well cooked for me to eat it, but I can eat cauliflower and carrots raw (just not tons of it!) I hope you had a lovely birthday my dear!
