Data recovery refers to the retrieval of lost data or information on your computer or electronic device owing to physical damage, virus attack, presence of corrupt or broken files etc. The Operating system becomes unable to read and identify the cluster of data due to the damage. The most common way to recover your data in case of loss is to have back-up files in external hard-drives, discs or having it shared on the internet. Setting up more than one partition in your existing hard-drive also helps in data back-up. If one partition is corrupt, the others remain fine. So the data in those partitions are retrievable and usable. Data recovery service is provided by a number of companies to recover and revive your lost data.

There are a number of ways or methods by which lost data can be recovered. Most recovery services have trained professionals to Data Recovery Services by physically repairing the damaged part. The main storage cell of a computer is the hard disk. Companies provide efficient technology to have the parts repaired or replaced. When the hardware has been thoroughly checked and no threats have been found, the next part to look into is the AI. Virus and spywares are searched for and removed using highly intelligent computer algorithms. Another advantage provided by these companies are a variety of back-up hardware like external hard-drives, compact discs, pen drives, floppies and many more. Using these, you can store your information as back-up, which thus becomes easily revivable. Apart from computers, other electronic devices of today like multimedia phones and i-pods also carry information which you would like to recover in case of a system failure. The data recovery services provide resources to retrieve from these items as well. With state-of-the-art tools and skilled employees, these companies are proving to be very effective in this modern age of electronic technology.

Another very important aspect the data recovery services look into is the safety of your online and confidential information. The field of logical coding has reached such heights that, when misused, they lead to dire consequences. Hacking your personal information, banking sites and other cyber crimes are at their peak today. But companies are hiring brains to match with that of the hacker, so that your information is safe, secure, re-usable. In case of account hacking, professionals are hired who can break in and recover the information present. With techniques like encryption, he can make your information confidential while going from one place to another. So one can obviously guess the importance of such Data Recovery programs and the help that one can get from such projects.

It gets worse than what is stated below. I own a inspiron M71R purchased from QVC. I went to the website to download the operating system. My service tag is NOT RECOGNIZED. Forget chat, can't ever get there. Called Dell: now here it comes; my operating system is now longer available but i can happily pay 19.95 to have the disks shipped to me. I stated to the women that they are forcing me to buy the disk. A smug reply was that I had the option to create them when I got the computer. I calmly stated that I did make copies but the identification on the disk wore off and I don't know which disk they are on. So, YES they force us to buy what they provide others for free. This can only be a ploy to make more money.
I will now insert every fregin disk I own to find the operating system and will NEVER BUY A DELL AGAIN. If I can't find the system, to hell with dell, I'll find something else to run the computer.

guys and gals i know this sucks but you can go to the driver download page for whatever product you have. and just download all the drivers they list ( i know, i know, it wont need or use them all) but 9 times in ten when you try to install the wrong driver it will say you dont have that item or device and stop the install.. it IS tedious it IS annoying. there SHOULD be a better way. Dell DOES suck.. But i ask you, if you can at least get a copy of the OS on the pc or laptop isnt time easier to spend these days then money?
just download every driver listed for you pc or laptop onto a USB and try installing them, one at a time, after a couple hours you will have installed the ones you actually have matching hardware for and you are in business.. the last thing you can do is double check your device manger to see if you missed any. they will have a yellow exclamation mark on the ones you missed..
i have kept an old D620 running this ay since it was brand new. the restore discs were lost long ago and as we know dell wants money just to look your way these days. i refuse to be bullied..

Dell want £48 for a recovery disc in the UK (Windows 7 Home Premium). The robot on the phone just kept repeating that I'd pay more for a new OS. They must want us to use Torrent sites.

recent exchange with DELL CHAT – You have to buy the disk from them — I WILL NEVER BUY A DELL COMPUTER AGAIN – I AM A 30 year customer and I will never buy one or recommend that anyone purchase one again – this has been a very disappointing process and I know that this is not the way a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY SHOULD TREAT CLIENTS WHO HAVE BEEN VICTIMIZED BY MALICIOUS APPLICATIONS – it is disturbing and makes one ponder if in fact DELL DOES NOT HIRE PEOPLE TO DESTROY COMPUTERS SO YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE NEW ONES OR BUY NEW OPERATING SYSTEMS –

2/19/16 Thank you again for the steps to obtain a restore media. I followed the steps you outlined and I was disconnected twice while being transferred from customer support chat to technical support chat. Fortunately for me the 2nd chat person gave me the following technical chat link before I was disconnected.

Once at this tech support chat link I was able to obtain the restore media for my 4 year old, out of warranty Dell 8500, for $19.99. I guess that nothing is free anymore.
In the process of giving my information and waiting for a response, I was asked several times to purchase a service contract. I declined several times.
The whole process is needlessly long and tedious but after 90 minutes on the computer and phone I should be receiving my media soon.
Word to the wise – as soon as you get your new Dell computer, call customer support, tell them you need the restore media, and they should send you out one immediately for free. I did this recently for a new Dell 8900 and the process worked perfectly.
