Relationships in recovery can be a tricky thing. In fact, most people probably don’t realize it, but relationships are the number one problem when it comes to relapse. Nothing else has the same amount of power to create such turmoil in our lives. Think about it: your life is made up of nothing but relationships. There are also dozens of other relationships in your life, such as with your coworkers or your friends, but those are the 3 big ones. Let’s take a look at them in more detail. Using System Restore To Recover Deleted Files
RecoverySoft / March 25, 2018

System restore is one of the best things Microsoft has produced when it comes to recovering deleted files. Unfortunately, not too many people know how to use it correctly. System restore's primary use is actually to help users remove programs that they find are interfering with the operations of the computer. When used properly, system restore will return the computer to its settings prior to the installation of the unwanted program. System restore is superior to uninstall because uninstalling a program does not always completely eradicate the errant program nor does it undo changes that have occurred in the computer. There is a possibility that these changes are the source of the problem. Disk Space Issues Yet it is also a great idea to set a system restore point on your computer in case files get deleted. However, it should be noted that system restore creates its own restore points so forgetful users will still benefit from it. Nonetheless, a system restore point should be added before installing certain programs and when important files have been saved. Restore does not affect saved word documents, emails or favorites so it can be used without trepidation. Restore is also reversible so if…

RecoverySoft / March 25, 2018

Here is the situation. A laptop comes to us with a dead hard drive. Unfortunately, the user needs some files off the dead drive. After much research on the internet and a couple of data recovery quotes we decide to try and recover the information ourselves. Luckily for us the drive will not spin up at all. I say luckily because the usual problem is that the circuit board on the bottom of the drive went bad. That does not mean that something else is not the problem, but replacing the circuit board is the simplest thing to try. The first thing needed is another hard drive. That may sound easy but it is not. You need an identical hard drive, and by identical I mean the same model number, part number, firmware, everything. In our case we had a Hitachi Travelstar hard drive that had three numbers to match. The important numbers were the model number, part number, and MLC number. I believe the MLC number has something to do with the firmware revision but do not quote me on that. After speaking with Hitachi I was referred to a company called CueTech. They specialize in finding "hard to…
